Setting up an iPad as your music stand
A good iPad stand setup is three decisions: where it sits, how it stays awake, and how you turn the page. The third one is where most setups quietly fail.
Height and angle
Mount at normal music-stand height with the screen tilted slightly back. That angle also puts your face squarely in the front camera's view, which is what gesture turning needs.
Power for long sets
Continuous face tracking and a bright screen use real battery. For rehearsals over an hour, run on a cable — a right-angle connector keeps it out of the way.
Turning without reaching
Reaching across a mounted iPad is the worst part of the setup. A held blink or head shake removes the reach entirely, and costs nothing.
