Hands-free page turning
Hands-free page turning for musicians
Hands-free means exactly that: your hands never leave the instrument and your feet stay on the pedals you actually need. StageMate watches for one of three deliberate gestures — a held blink, a nod, or a head shake — and advances or goes back through the score.
Three gestures, three jobs
Map a held blink to next page, a head shake to previous, and a nod to a repeat jump or bookmark. Each gesture can be enabled independently, so you can start with one and add the others once it feels automatic.
Tuning it to your playing
Sensitivity and hold duration are adjustable. Wind players who move their head while breathing usually lower head-shake sensitivity and lean on blink turning instead.
Practise it before the gig
Spend one rehearsal with gestures on and the score you know best. Within a set the timing becomes part of the phrase, the same way pedal timing does.
Try it on your own scores
Import PDF scores, add annotations, build setlists and turn pages hands-free. StageMate is available for Apple devices and Android. Features, cloud services and Pro purchases differ by platform; check the current plan before buying.

- Is there a delay?
- Detection happens on-device in real time; the turn lands within a fraction of a second of the gesture completing.
- Can I use it with a face mask or glasses?
- Glasses are fine. Anything covering the eyes will reduce blink detection reliability.
- Does it need internet?
- No. Everything runs locally, so it works in basements and churches with no signal.
